Antique Meiji Era Japanese Satsuma Vase / Lamps Museum Quality for sale in Palm Harbor, Florida

$2,500

There as nice of satsuma vases that have been turned into lamps as you will find anywhere.I took these to a antique dealer who's specialty was in Oriental and Asian antiques. He said these are from the Meiji period and were as nice as any he's seen in his 30 years of selling antiques and if they were in his store he would put a price of $2500 for the pair. You are welcome to bring your expert over to look and appraise them if you want to.The artwork is masterfully done with all kinds intricate detail you don't see on the cheap satsuma knockoffs. These are 30" to the top of the finials with new shades that were over $200 and custom ordered in the exact same size as the original ones that were ancient and worn out. They were made out of paper thin silk on wooden trusses. The body is a unique inverted shape with gold handles that measure 18 1/2" tall by 9" across and are 6" deep. There's not even a scratch on them. These were rewired in the 1970's with inline switches. The bases are wooden and ancient also. There's a hairline crack in one of them and that's the only thing keeping these from being in mint condition.I will take a reasonable offer.I have several more closeups of these lamps if you want more pictures email me.
